Study Spots Around Campus
As the semester winds down and finals quickly approach, finding a good study spot on campus can make all the difference. Whether you prefer the silence of a library or the energy of a busy café, there are plenty of options to match how you work best. Here are some study spots that Purdue students love, offering the right mix of comfort, focus, and atmosphere to help you get through long study sessions.
Wilmeth Active Learning Center (WALC)
WALC is one of the most popular study spots on campus, and it is pretty easy to see why. There are a bunch of different places to sit depending on what you are feeling, like the quieter library space on the second floor, the booths on the third floor, or the computer labs if you need to get work done on a desktop. There is also a cafe where you can get snacks, coffee, and smoothies, which makes it easy to stay there for a while. It is open all day and every day, which is nice, especially during finals when you might end up studying at random hours.Lambertus and Dudley Hall
Lambertus Hall is a great spot if you want something quieter and less crowded, making it easier to focus and get work done. Dudley Hall has a similar vibe but is a bit livelier, with lots of natural light and open space that works well for both solo studying and group work. Both are solid options if you want a break from busier places like WALC.Hicks Underground Library
Hicks Underground Library is a great spot if you really need to lock in and focus. It is much quieter than most places on campus, so it is perfect for getting through heavy studying without distractions. Space has a more tucked away feel, which makes it easy to stay in the zone for a while. It is a go to if you want a calm and serious study environment, especially during finals week.Purdue Memorial Union (PMU)
The PMU is a great study spot if you like background noise while you work. It has a lot of different seating areas, so you can usually find a place to sit whether you are alone or with friends. There are also plenty of food options nearby, which makes it easy to grab something to eat and stay for a while. It is a good choice if you want a more relaxed and social study environment.Krach Leadership Center
Krach is a great spot if you want something that feels a little more modern and relaxed. It has a lot of open seating and a mix of spaces, so you can find somewhere to work whether you are studying alone or with a group. The atmosphere is usually not too loud but not completely silent either, which makes it a nice middle ground. It is also in the middle of campus with the CoRec right across the street, so it is a super convenient place to stop and study between classes or after a workout.
Everyone studies differently, so it is worth trying out a few places to see what works best for you. Whether you need complete silence or a bit of background noise, Purdue has plenty of options to help you get through the end of the semester.
