Women in Engineering Program Resources

WiE Homepage:
Our homepage with many opportunities and activities waiting for you.

ENGR194: Women in Engineering Seminar:
This one seminar meets for one hour a week to hear personal stories from working professional women engineers about their experiences.  It also includes groups discussions and informal socials.  This is a great way to meet new friends and learn more about your future.

Women in Engineering Learning Community:
Live in the Women in Engineering learning community in the new Meredith South hall! This encourages study groups and offers free tutoring for first year classes.

Mentors and Mentees:
Smooth your transition to Purdue with the help of your own student mentor.  This program includes tons of fun and helpful activities with your mentor, and is yet another a wonderful way to personally connect to another woman engineering student.

Academic Programs

First Year Engineering Program:
Purdue has many people wanting to help you ease into engineering on the right foot. 

Cooperative Education (Co-Op):
Purdue's Co-Op is an established and strong program that allows you to gain 2 years of work experience while earning your degree.  You graduate in 5 years with both a Purdue education and knowledge and experience in industry.

Learning Communities:
This is a great way for first year students to make Purdue seem smaller and more personable.  The varied goals of each community let you work, play, live, and/or learn together!

Student Organizations:
With more than 800 student organizations and clubs, how can you not find something that interests and excites you?

Greek Life:
Or as they like to say, "Go Greek!"  You may also be especially interested in the engineering and technology sorority, Phi Sigma Rho.

Cooperative Housing:
Coop Housing is a good housing alternative, mixing in the large closeness of Greek life with the economical value of off-campus housing.

Purdue Society of Women Engineers (PSWE):
The second largest group in Purdue, tailored just for women like you!  PSWE has all types of activities and resources to match your every interest: socials, youth outreach, professional development, scholarship awards, and fun engineering teams, like Rube Goldberg and Grand Prix racing!

Purdue Musical Organizations:
If you have the talent or love for music, Purdue has exciting opportunities for you.

Athletics

Purdue Sports:
Purdue has a thriving athletics program with an enthusiastic student and alumnae fan base to cheer it on.

Intramural Sports:
With a group of friends or an organization, form an intramural team to compete with others and have a great time.

Recreational Center:
Purdue's state of the art facility is open to all students with an Olympic style aquatic center, fully equipped fitness center, indoor track, and multi-court gym.
