Learn More about Purdue Engineering Clubs and Organizations

One of the great advantages of a large university is the diversity of student activities, and the nearly 1,000 student organizations at Purdue will allow you to pursue current interests and discover new ones! Participating in student organizations is a great way to make your Purdue experience your own by finding your niche among students with similar interests or goals. Below is a brief description of a few options, but for a full list of student organizations, click here!

Purdue Engineering Student Council (PESC)

If you are looking to make a tangible impact on the Purdue community, PESC is an incredible group of driven and supportive students that recruits mainly freshmen at the start of each semester! Whether you are interested in planning career fairs, hosting pop ups across campus, or organizing engineering outreach activities, there are so many ways to get involved. Shreya Kurdukar, a sophomore in Biomedical Engineering, has served as the Student Affairs Coordinator for the Industrial Roundtable (IR) and is now the Seminars Coordinator for EXPO. She states that, “having been a part of two career fair committees, I’ve witnessed the effort that goes into planning such events, and their impact on the student body. It’s been such a rewarding experience to see the work we do benefit those around us, and I’m looking forward to more opportunities to continue doing so!”

Purdue Student Engineering Foundation (PSEF)

If you have taken a tour of campus, you have probably met a PSEFer! PSEF is an organization dedicated to promoting engineering awareness amongst youth, prospective students, Purdue freshman, and the community. They are an extraordinarily dedicated and enthusiastic group of members dedicated to promoting education and careers in engineering, as well as the advancement of engineering in today’s society. If you are interested in giving tours and outreach events, PSEF applications are taken at the beginning of each semester!

Purdue Society of Women Engineers (PSWE)

SWE is the world’s largest advocate and catalyst for change for women in engineering and technology. Rama Coimbatore, PSWE Communications Chair, states that “joining Purdue SWE has been a great opportunity for me to be a part of a community and find a support system on campus. My involvement in this organization has allowed me to find mentors who have been incredibly supportive throughout my journey in engineering, build relationships with industry partners, and discover a passion for leadership and service.” Members can get involved in any of SWE’s four unique pillars: Professional, Outreach, Technical, and Social/Communications. Each pillar places an emphasis on empowering women, networking, learning about the various career paths an engineer can take, and give and receive support from fellow engineering students.

Mentees & Mentors Program (M&M)

M&M is a program within WIEP that is designed for members to build a network with other female engineering students while learning professional strategies to be successful in the classroom and in the workforce. Members can be a part of the Group Program or Pair Program, where each have their own requirements and benefits. Having been a part of this incredible program myself, it introduced me to wonderful mentors, helped me adjust to Purdue, and set me up for success!
